Arcade Rulebook.

The terms of use for ArcticNote — a short rulebook for what the cabinet is, what it is not, and the obligations on every visitor and on us. Written for Canadian readers under provincial law and Canadian common law.

This rulebook applies to every visit to ArcticNote on every page. By using the cabinet, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please close the tab — that is the only way to leave the agreement, and it is intended to be that simple.

1. FREE SOCIAL ARCADE, NO REAL MONEY

ArcticNote is a free social pixel arcade. The cabinet does not accept money in any form: no payments, no in-page purchases, no subscriptions, no token shop, no premium tier, no upgrade path. The score panel does not exchange for cash, prizes, gift cards, branded merchandise, charitable donation credits, or anything else of real-world value. There is no exit point from the cabinet where the score becomes a thing you can carry away.

2. AGE RESTRICTION (18+)

The cabinet is published exclusively for adults aged eighteen and over. The visual format resembles real-money formats, and we hold the same eighteen-and-over line that those formats hold. The age gate on every page is a real boundary, not a checkbox to tap past. If you are under eighteen, please close the tab.

3. NOT A GAMBLING SERVICE

For the avoidance of doubt: ArcticNote is not a gambling service under the Criminal Code of Canada, the Manitoba Gaming Control and Liquor Act, or the equivalent provincial regimes. The cabinet does not offer real-money engagement, does not offer prizes of any kind, and does not maintain customer accounts holding value. The score panel is decorative furniture; it is not a balance.

4. ACCEPTABLE USE

Visitors may not attempt to circumvent the age gate, scrape the site at a rate that disrupts service, attempt to inject content into the cabinet, attempt to break the cookie/localStorage persistence layer, or use the cabinet as a vector for distributing malware. The cabinet is intended for human readers; automated traffic above a reasonable rate may be blocked at the network layer.

Visitors may not republish the cabinet under their own brand, sell access to it, or claim ownership of the cabinet's pixel art. The cabinet is the work of the floor crew described on the arcade floor page.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The pixel art, the cabinet shell, the audio bed, the typography selection, the level design, and the written copy on this site are the property of the ArcticNote floor crew. The Google Fonts in use are licensed under the SIL Open Font License. The regulator logos in the footer are the property of the respective organisations and used here under fair-use review for the purpose of helpline disclosure.

6. LIABILITY

The cabinet is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. The floor crew is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of the cabinet. To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, the floor crew's aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid by the visitor for use of the cabinet — which, since the cabinet is free, is zero.

Nothing in this rulebook limits the floor crew's liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Canadian law.

7. PRIVACY & COOKIES

Personal-information handling is governed by the Pixel Privacy page. Cookies and localStorage are described in the Crumb Cartridge. The two pages should be read together with this rulebook.

8. RESPONSIBLE USE

The visual format of a three-by-three pixel cabinet resembles real-money formats that some visitors may find difficult. The Eject Button page lists the support organisations we recommend if the cabinet stops feeling like a quiet break. The floor crew does not run streak counters, comeback prompts, or anniversary nudges — the cabinet is designed to be left at any time.

9. GOVERNING LAW

This rulebook is governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Manitoba. Any dispute arising from the use of the cabinet is to be resolved by the courts of Manitoba sitting in Winnipeg, subject to the visitor's consumer-law rights in their home province.

10. CHANGES TO THIS RULEBOOK

If the rulebook changes — new section, updated wording, new obligation — this page will be updated and the change date noted at the bottom. Material changes will be flagged with a small banner on the homepage for two weeks following the update. Continued use of the cabinet after the update constitutes agreement with the updated rulebook.

11. CONTACT

Rulebook questions go to [email protected]. The address is 201 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, Canada. The phone is +1 (204) 555-0418 — we do not staff the phone line for terms inquiries; please write.
